Welcome to Hogwarts School of the Brave and the Ignorant: A Parody RPG,

seems. If you want to be a part of one of the strangest, silliest and
most unusual games around, you're in the right place. You don't
have to know, or even like Harry Potter, you just need the desire to
put it all out there, and have a lot of fun while you do!
Wet Cement (Quote Of The Moment) "But
even it I was going to eat it," replied Alanna, fixing Tammy with a
very serious stare. "It's far more sanitary than using school-provided
cutlery. I know where these have been," she said, holding up her small,
grimy hands. "But who knows what the Slave-Elfs have been doing to
those." ~Marti

Staking a Claim « Result #2 on Feb 13, 2009, 6:13pm »
Alanna had decided to get in early and grab a good bit of the Have-A-Puff common room to live in this year, before the first-year Grinding Floorers realised their common room was uninhabitable and flocked here. She was currently in the process of dragging her second-favourite arm chair over to a secluded corner of the common room, where he favourite arm chair already resided. Her plan was to line the two up together to make a surface comfortable enough to sleep on. True, she could have bullied some docile drugged out Have-A-Puff into giving up their bed, but this was a much better idea. By staying in the common room, she wouldn't miss out on anything - gossip, parties, or cheat sheets. Also, she automatically had claim to the best and second best arm chairs in the room, when it came to sitting.
The chair she was unceremoniously dragging made a scraping noise, and Alanna gave a very masculine grunt as she worked it over a particularly lumpy bit of carpet. Only a few more 10s of metres to go...

Welcoming Feast « Result #3 on Feb 13, 2009, 6:04pm »
Well, the castle is in decent nick, all the slave-elfs have been recaptured, the water has been pronounced safe for human consumption, and Hogwarts School of the Brave and the Ignorant has opened it's doors for 2009!
The Grating Hall looked magnificent as students took their places for what was sure to be a spectacular and eventful Welcoming Feast. The four long tables were lain with brand-new crockery and cutlery (apparently, as Subla had bragged to another teacher, there had been a sale on at the local $2 shop, so he had finally replaced the stuff with all those holes in it), and festively decorated with tinsel and live butterflies. Above on the rooftop the sky was a dark blue, with only a little smog obscuring the stars tonight.
Among the students returning was Alanna of Trebond, known here as Alan Potter. Head held tall (or at least, as tall as was possible given her distinctly unimpressive height), she was now a cocky second year, and had the BO to prove it! Taking a seat at the Grinding Floor table, she looked around for people she knew, and hoped to catch a glance of some terrified first years.

Alan Potter « Result #4 on Feb 13, 2009, 5:46pm »
Name: Alanna of Trebond (alias: Alan Potter)
Gender: Female masquerading as a male.
Age: 12
Position: Student, 2nd year
Physical Description: She's small for her age, and probably always will be. She makes up for her un-exciting build however with somewhat unusual colouring. Her eyes are a vivid shade of purple that often makes people stare. Those who know her however, or those who have heard of her, know better than that, as Alanna doesn't appreciate being stared at, and will make this known to the starer, often through violent retaliation. Her hair is is also vivid, or would be if it were clean, a bright shade of red most commonly dulled by a thick coat of grease and dirt. She used to wear it long. She also used to have good hygiene. Both these things changed when she decided to disguise herself as a boy. The hair was butchered into a really nasty cut. She also stopped washing, and now farts more frequently, all in an attempt to make her disguise more believable.
She makes every attempt to make her disguise believable - from her manly swagger to her habit of punching people to say hello. She is as yet unblemished from acne - probably due to age more than anything else. Her features are small, set on very pale freckled skin. She also has BO - again, her young age makes it not nearly as bad as it could be - due to a lack of baths, as poor hygiene is something she considers to be very manly. And she spits often. She wears her school uniform untidily, and her street clothes in a similar fashion. She is however very careful never to remove her clothes in public, no matter how manly this might be - that would give away her secret!!!
Background: Alanna was born into a small family - her mother died in childbirth, and in the house there were only her, her twin brother Thom, her recluse of a father, and the many thousands of family servants. Alanna had a happy childhood, frequenting the sand box and playing games of wild imagination with her brother. She was gradually developing an interest in wizardry. At the same time, Thom started thinking about walruses. Both children knew the day would soon arrive when they must leave home, and look for something else to do - and both were starting to believe they had found their calling.
It was about this time that the children's reclusive father realized that being reclusive probably wasn't very good for his relationship with his children. He decided to take an interest, finally, and organize their further schooling for them. Thom, he declared, would attend Hogwarts School of the Brave and the Ignorant, a place he had seen a cheap add for on the internet. Alanna would attend the German Royal Walrus Watching Academy In Antarctica, the academy with the highest number of walrus sightings in the southern hemisphere. The children were understandably unhappy with this arrangement.
And so, they did what any sane pair of identical twins would do - they swapped places. They traded gender too - Alanna hopes now to become The First Ever Female Wizard. She is unaware that she could simply become a witch, even though that is what her many female friends at school plan on doing. Now in her second year, Alanna is enjoying her new found freedom and masculinity, and hopes to continue into further schooling in the next few years.
Personality: The stereotype says red-heads have a temper, and Alanna is no exception. She blows up at tiny things, such as what someone said, why they have to go somewhere, the shape of someone's nose... Usually she will lash out with violent (either verbal or physical) retaliation, however oftentimes she can be more subtle, and set up elaborate pranks to get back at the offender. She can be a very loyal friend, and enjoys company, because people who enjoy company are more fun to play. She is, however, terrified of someone learning her secret, and will protect it at the cost of friendship. When it comes to revenge, she can change alliances almost instantly, or ally herself with someone she wouldn't usually. She is also very willing to try new things, whatever they may be. She believes you only live once, and you should make the most of all opportunities, even if these opportunities could severely reduce your lifespan.
Alanna is very manly - she thinks so, anyway. Every action is geared toward being masculine, and as a result she can be rather insulting at times. She is a big believer in stereotypes, and does her best to discover and then act upon every male stereotype she can find - thank goodness she is not yet of an age to start dating.
Likes and Dislikes, Skills and Weaknesses: Alanna likes playing Quit It quite a bit. The first time she ever tried, she caught the ball by a total fluke. It was better than anyone else could manage at the time, and so she was made Sinker - the first 1st year in over 100 years. (She of course too believes this was because she is so manly - actually, the fact that her last name is 'Potter' probably had more to do with it, since Grinding Floor's last great Sinker shared that name...) Unfortunately, this catch was a one off - she has yet to repeat it. She is frankly a terrible player, and thus takes Remedial Quit It lessons on Monday afternoons.
Alanna's best skill, of course, lies in being manly, and she has developed a very good belch to go with this. She is also a great secret keeper, and can be very subtle when the need arises. She is a poor mathematician - her worst subjects are arithmancy and bistromatics.
Her favourite colour is purple, though she does try to hide this, as she is worried it might seem feminine, and usually when asked goes for a brick red. She is a big drinker of caffeinated products, and hates walnuts.

Georgian! Since when are you around??
You may have noticed, the site is dead. Michael's original bio is in the archives, you may have seen. But if you want to make posts, go ahead! I'll even reply. Can guarantee anyone else will... But we could!!
There are currently some technical problems with the board... I'm unable to change any of the headers and footers, in any way, which is a little frustrating, and is why things are a little messier thant hey should be, like the affiliates and such. But a PorBoards staffer is working on it for me, so it might come good yet...

Re: Creating a Character « Result #7 on Oct 13, 2008, 3:47pm »
Name: Michael Moriarty Gender: Male Age: 13 Position: 3rd year student
Physical Description: Michael is of average height and weight Around eight and a half stone, five feet tall but has a wiry frame. He has fine black hair which he wears swept to the side with a side parting. His complexion is pale. He has thickish angular eyebrows, sharp green eyes and a beakish, medium size nose. He has a pointed chin and thin lips which he generally keeps pursed with a suggestion of a slight smirk.
He is always meticulously dressed and groomed though his hair can become untidy. Under his robes he wears a dark pin-stripe suit with a waist-coat, white shirt and grey silk crevatte. He wears spats and owns top-hat and monacle. He has a silver pocket-watch which he keeps on a chain. He has no visible scars but a blue-green tattoo of a dagger with a snake-handle imprinted in his left hand. He wears a single onyx signet ring with the same design on the fourth finger of the same hand.
His wand resembles a victorian style cane with two silver end-pieces, constructed of mahogany and hyena hair. His robes and cloak are lined with red silk. Stationary, his posture is one of calm, confident assuredness but in movement more debonair, bold and sweeping.
Michael comes from a family of squibs. Every seventh generation however a child is born into magic. Michael is that child. His father is curator of the Cairo Museum of London and secret head of an international muggle crime syndicate, and disciple of Lord Vulgarshorts. His mother, resident of the Fubari Mental Institution for Unhappy Campers.
Michael was born with a magical silver-spoon in his mouth. He has known nothing but oppulence and evil-doing all his life. Groomed as successor to his father’s empire he studies but with one aim: to become Lord Vulgarshorts greatest and favourite servant. Secretly, he harbors the ambition to replace both his father and Lord Vulgarshorts and subject both the magical and muggle worlds to their deserved fate, excruciating misery.
Michael developed a superiority complex from a young age when he began to understand his family lineage. He firmly believes that it is his destiny to become ruler of all things. Although quite mad, Moriarty is extremely cunning and calculating. He realises that in order to succeed the true wickedness of his character cannot, for now, be revealed. To this end he regularly imbibes a “badness dampening field powder” which he takes as snuff. The powder helps prevent wizards and witches from seeing the true dark depths of his lost soul.
In order to disguise his real character and goals Michael has invented an alter-ego, the character he plays while among the undeserving. This alter-ego is that of a foppish, Victorian style eccentric on the look-out for fun and jolly japes. Michael has spend his whole first year devoloping this personality with some success. For now it suits his purposes to be seen as a harmless but charming odd-ball.While at Hogwarts his aim is to scrutinise the magical population, kill potential adversaries and recruit potential allies, but only when the time is right.
Michael is a lot more intelligent than he makes out to be, giving the impression that he needs to study harder than he actually does. This private study time is his opportunity to return to his true self and hatch his plots and intrigues. Nobody, even he, is perfect and occassionally he can lose control over his hated alter-ego, when he does lose patience or self-control he can give insights into his real despicable self. He has a violent temper which although he tries hard to control can manifest especially when he senses true goodness. He also loathes all things muggle.
His apparent interests are fencing, boxing and antique collection. His true loves being a worship of the dark arts and the fulfillment of his perceived destiny. He prays regularly to Lord Vulgarshorts and believes that it is his master’s will which guides his thoughts. This may well be true or perhaps Michael is just a complete nut-job.

The Blackboards « Result #8 on Sept 8, 2008, 7:39pm »
In the Entrance Hall, to one side of the Grand Staircase, four large blackboards are nailed to the wall. Greenish black in colour, the boards each have the name of one of the houses hastily scrawled in white chalk at the top, then a large number beneath. The only thing remotely magical about the boards is that there are no sticks of chalk nearby, and the numbers are prone to changing whenever a teacher declares a loss or gain of house points.

The State of Things
Yeah, everyone is pretty much carrying on with their lives.
There is the chance that this place will be once more resurrected, possibly over summer (that's southern hemisphere, Dec-Feb), but I make no promises. Should that happen, all members will be contacted via email. Don't hold your breath though.
There's been some activity though, by - you guessed it - spammers. Yay. And it's taking me a while to clean up. And I don't want to have to keep doing this. So, while the site is inactive, I am disabling guest posting and all new memberships will require admin approval. Should the site return to a state of activity, guest posting and no-wait memberships will return. But at the moment there is too much spam - it's driving me up the wall. This is also gonna prevent legit advertisers - sorry guys. But hey, we get very little traffic, so you're probably wasting your time anyway.

Hi!
That's a cute character, and I'm glad you've decided to join the site!
There's just two problems though:
1. We only accept characters from the Potter-verse, or Tamora Pierce books owing to our history. Although I think you've done a neat job at Buffy, I can't accept it.
2. If you have a look at the most recent post dates, you'll see it hasn't been for quite some time. The site is more or less dead. It's just a coincidence that I happened to come here today. However, if you want, make sure your email is in your member profile, and I'll send you one if we ever resurrect, which is possible (maybe soon, maybe never).
Wuffy Winters « Result #15 on Jan 22, 2008, 8:24am »
I hope this is ok to do a parody of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I looked around and couldn't see anyone else who'd done it, if I'm wrong I'm really sorry, I'll start again.
Name: Wuffy Winters
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Position: Student
Physical Description:
Wuffy is small, blonde and plump. She tends to wear pink frilly dresses a lot and carries a wand that looks unmistakably like a pencil, which Wuffy insists is her stake. She has tanned skin and tends to walk as if she's drunk - all the time.
Background:
Wuffy lived in good old winterdale until she found out she was the chosen 1000000000th Vampire Lover. However her parents, after consulting with numerous doctors, decided she would be better off continuing her magical education at Hogwarts. There was some talk about feeding her to the giant squid if she didn't stop leaping in front of people and declaring her love for their pointy teeth. It is thought if she ever did meet a real vampire he or she would probably kill her out of irritation.
Personality:
Wuffy is passionate about vampires. She talks about vampires, reads Dracula in her spare time. She's friendly and bubbly and tends to hop from foot to foot with excitement. She very girly and loves to go shopping for pink frocks. Wuffy loves to gossip and often gets told off for talking in class. She is terrified of blood, spiders and the dark.

An odious ritual « Result #18 on Oct 22, 2007, 5:21pm »
Michael Moriarty grimaced as the fetid smell of decay wafted around his nostrils like a fart in the proverbial spacesuit. He stood bare-chested and sweaty in front of a large cedar tree decorated in the most morbid fashion. From a low branch, loosely secured with thick rope, hung a dead horse.
Suspended by its hind hooves the vapid carcas swung almost imperceptibly under its own weight. Michael continued the grisly ritual. Once more, he drew back the full length of the the long leather bull-whip and continued to scourge the lifeless nag with all his might. As he did so he murmured the incantation.
The deceased beast's large tongue lolled out of its stiffening muzzle. An eerie grey steam seemed to exude from the scarlet gouges in the animals pelt. Moriarty smiled fiendishly. When the dead horse had been flogged the spell would be complete!
The sound of maniacal laughter and the swish of the whip echoed in the forest clearing.

Aroxia Gold lay on the comfiest couch in the Have-A-Puff commonroom, groaning outloud about every ten seconds,"I'm bored,so bored...."She had stacks of paper and books nearby, but was also being decidedly apathetic, and had been too lazy to even change out of her pajamas. This would of course result in some stares, seeing as how her nightgown was not exactly what would be considered decent, but wasn't completely immodest.

Position: Student, Fifth year (but just came to the school)
Physical Description: Mousey brown hair, dark eyes, pale-ish skin, avarage height and build. Ylila tends to wear the Hogwarts regulation robes, otherwise just jeans and a t-shirt or something similar. She's got a pretty normal face -no scars or spots or anything, though she does have a tendancy to blush red at random times, which is quite embarrasing for her. She's pretty shy, walks surprisingly fast, since she's not got long legs, tends to wear really pretty earrings, and loads of bracelets- about 20 or so, normally glass, in hundreds of colours. Also a few bangles on the same wrist.
Background: Ylila had a pretty normal bringing up- Muggle parents, went ot a normal primary and secondary school in Sheffield, England. One day on the way to school, she was attacked by a man, nearly killed her. Her magic came to her then, and she blew him up with strange green fire. She collapsed into a coma. Her parents didn't understand what had happened (nobody could wake her), and took her to a special doctor's ward. They found unusual activity in her head, and when (ten days later) she woke, sho had no memory of the incident of her family, or past, but in its place a strange ability to use magic- about fifth year standard. She was moved into fifth year four months after her arrival at the school.
Ylila's amnesia is quite serious, as it happens often and at random points. This can become quite funny but also is quite upsetting to people sometimes.
Personality: Ylila had always been quiet and introverted, now she is quieter, and sometimes, when she uses magic, goes crazy, babbling incoherently, as though she is having an epileptic fit. Afterwards, she faints, or becomes weak, and begs for forgiveness. Madam Pofrey says this is a throwback from the incident, but Ylila doesn't think so. It scares her, and she is planning to run away. How can she stay in a school like this?
Likes/Dislikes: Ylila loves books and reading. She is always scribbling the endings (yes, strangely, the endings) of stories in the back of schoolbooks. She enjoys drama, as she finds it's a good way to express herself (normally she's too shy). She likes going for long walks, so she's happy about Hogwarts grounds. She used to go to a swordfighting group, but since she's not in Hogwarts, she might not be able to keep that up. She was pretty good, anyway.

hello and welcome
your starting to get the idea now, but i would just like you to check your grammar in the first two paragraphs. Oh and this is written a bit haphazardly, the content is pretty much fine, but I'm not too sure by what you mean by the bit Ive highlighted in bold, i think you just need to restructure the sentences...
Her parents didn't understand what had happened (nobody could wake her), and where happy to let her be taken away to a special school (hogwarts) to get her sorted out. She was found by the ministry the day later and taken to Hogwarts. Madam Pomfrey found unusual activity in her head, and when (ten days later) she woke, sho had no memory of the incident of her family, or past, but in its place a strange ability to use magic- about fifth year standard. She was moved into fifth year four months after her arrival at the school.
I hate to be picky and i know that it is discouraging, but bear with us, Marti and I are just making it easier for you to play so any extra detail to add quirkiness will also help
So just have another look over your post and then we will sort you

Okay, this looks better. There's still a bit I'd like you to re-think though.
First, as I said in my first post, I don't really want her finding out about her magic in an unusual way. You can have her older, that's fine, but she found out she had magic when she invited to go to the school, not when she was nearly killed.
Another important thing that I just noticed are your references to Madame Pomfrey. Unfortunately in this universe, she doesn't exist. She's been replaced by the somewhat less that competent Nurse Poppy Poultice, and Nurse Poppy, lovely as she is, would not be able to deal with the sort of things you're talking about. So you'll either have to get rid of them or find some other way of explaining it.

Honora smiled slightly, amused by Thora."Yes,who are you?"she asked Eligan, absently pulling a thread from her jeans."I haven't seen you at the school before."She suppressed giggles, which was a rather rare thing, and instantly pinched her palm, mentally slapping herself. She was not a giddy girl who woulld giggle-though she was having plenty of trouble refraining.

Done everything you said apart from the attack- I took out the rape part- my character is built around that incident and I don't have a clue what else I could do in its place that would have the same effect but not be as serious...
Position: Student, Fifth year (but just came to the school)
Physical Description: Mousey brown hair, dark eyes, pale-ish skin, avarage heightand build. Ylila tendstowear the Hogwarts regulation robes, otherwise just jeans and a t-shirt or something. She's got a pretty normal face-no scars or spots or anything, though she does have a tendancy to blush red at random times, which is quite embarrasing...
One day on the way to school, she was attacked by a drunk man, nearly killed her. Her magic came to her then, and she blew him up with strange green fire. She collapsed into a coma.
Ylila's amnesia is quite serious, as it happens often and at random points. This can become quite funny but also is quite upsetting to people sometimes.
Personality:Ylila had always been quiet and introverted, now she is quieter, and sometimes, when she uses magic, goes crazy, babbling incoherently, as though she is having an epileptic fit.

All right Ylila! Thanks for joining! Lets have a look at this!
First off, if you'd like to change your username (which would be a good thing to do), hit profile on the top menu, then select modify. There's a section to change your "display name", so you don't actually need a new account. Or you could change your character name, either is fine.
Also, great to see the Rajmuat location in your mini profile. Always great to get another Pierce fan around!
Next, the first thing that strikes me about your app is that you haven't left the headings for a large part of it. I'm going to ask that you edit them back in, as it makes it easier to read.
Right, the next thing I'm going to ask you to change is pretty major, so please bare with me. The thing is, although things like rape and drunken violence do happen, this isn't really the place for them. They're very serious issues, and this isn't exactly a serious site. We take the piss out of everything, and if I accept your character as is, that will include rape, etc. Which isn't really okay (at least, not by me). So I'm going to ask that you either remove that part of her past, or somehow find a more light-hearted way of thinking about it, if possible. Unfortunately, your character seems to revolve around that event, so I realise it's going to take some effort.
Also, I'd rather she came to her magic in the ordinary manner. If you'd like, you could have her as a late bloomer, ie a 14 year old in her first year, or if you really want a 5th year you could possibly hve her transfer from some other more reputable school. But there's no reason she can't have been at Hogwarts the past 4 years. I realise it's intimidating entering a new rp - it seems to make sense to make your character new too. But really, you'll pick this up pretty quickly. The school is of the size and the characters ignorant enough that it is possible for no one to have noticed her before.
The thing I was intrigued by, and suggest you look into further, is the memory loss thing. I think you could develop this into a very funny interesting soap-opera style character with a very large amount of amnesia. Maybe she's forgotten very simple things, maybe she's still forgetting things. Play around with it, see what you come up with. And keep in mind this is a comedy.
Good luck! I look forward to reading what you come up with next!

Not having understood a word of Eliqan's speech, James chose to do what he always did when confronted by a person who made very limited sense: he smiled vaguely, and nodded in agreement. The boy was none too pleased that this sudden appearance had used a crayon in his crossword book, and even more un-pleased that his solitary game seemed to be turning into a group effort, but, ever polite, he chose to ignore this fact. Surely embedded in the "prefix and suffix", the "embellished red toilet brush", and the oft-quoted fact that "all roads lead to Rome" was some sort of sense, probably purported by an individual of some sort of genius or possibly malicious intent. Whichever way, James suspected that it was in his best interest to attempt to stay on this individual's good side.
Raoul's yell diverted James's attention momentarily, but turning his head, he saw no trace of any sort of spider. Deciding that the big teenager whimpering teenager curled up on a chair was mostly likely harmless, and that the not-quite-human looking young man sitting on the table after having swung in from the air duct was possibly not, James looked back to Eliqan. He gave a rather timid sort of smile, and looked down at the marks the boy had drawn on his crossword. Torpor, although it didn't sound right, was probably as good an answer as anything. "What do you think about this one?" he asked shakily. "4 Across: baked on fun, 8 letters, starts with R."

"Boys dormitory, left hall,"Honora directed, glancing up from Missy.Filli chattered worriedly in her ear, saying several uncomplimentary things, and she sighed in exasperation."Filli!Honestly! What have you been doing?I don't want to know where you learned that word actually...Don't tell Kree!"Any random people in the room who had been at the school around a year were used to Honora having conversations with animals, trees and bushes.

Raoul blinked, trying to understand Eligan. He looked completely and utterly bemused,or at least his face did, though his broad shoulders did not droop."Um...Could you translate that?"he asked, blinking. He twitched as he thought he saw something scuttle past, let out a girly scream, and hopped onto a chair."Spider..."he whimpered, twitching, and glancing around nervously. His voice had gone up about fifteen octaves.

James jumped slightly, and turned his head, eyes wide, to look up the significant distance into Raoul's face. Swallowing nervously, he replied eloquently, "Ummmm..." and swallowed again. "It-it was in the lib- the library," he stammered. The boy standing over him couldn't have been older than James, but that didn't change the fact that he was huge, in a rather terrifying kind of way. "I don't mean any harm by it..." he added, "It's not like I was going to wr-write in a library book..."

Honora, sixteen now,sat at the Dodotalon table, wearing a white headband with a yellow sun on it.She'd recently gone on a random search of the library, and discovered mythology, and adopted one of the Grecian cults, that of Apollo. It had been amusing other students for several days at this point. She looked around, wondering if Thora was there-among the books she had found, one of them involved sailing.

There were a few confused students wandering the grating hall for the welcome back feast. This was the first time any student had completed a full year to move up a grade. Many of the students were also confused to where their holidays had gone, well except for the Have-a-puff students. It seems that Needlessgore had remove the holidays so no students would leave and destroy the income he gets from each students that is enrolled.
The tables were loaded with, for once, food so the students were worried still wondering if the food meant that a strange cult had taken over and were about to poison them. . . (anything was likely)

James Archibald V had recently discovered a book of crosswords in the library, and had decided that although he was terrible at them, he'd like to be good. So the boy had taken a comfy chair in the small third floor coffee shop with a pencil and his book. He wasn't sure why no one had brought a drink over to him yet, but figured they would get around to it sooner or later. For now, he looked at the first question.

Hogwarts has now started a new school year. Characters didn't really go home for the holidays (Needlessgore doesn't believe in that sort of thing), but all the characters have now gone into their next year, and also had a birthday.
